If you are impacted by unavailability of visa number, you can get 3 year extension of H1B after I-140 is approved. If your priority date is current, then you have to file for status adjustment, not H1B extension. If your lawyer does not understand the law, better get a "real" lawyer :)
I just got my Labor approved a couple week ago and now i want to file I-140 premium processing. But my lawyer's not allow me to do that coz once my I-140 approve i can't file my 8 th year extension. My 7th years H1B will expire on Aug 30, 2007.
I'm very confused now, on my understanding once i get my I-140 approve, i'm eligible to get my H1B 3 years extension.
FYI: i chose CP opotion, is that make me not eligible to get my H1B extension once my I-140 approve?

On paper, the D2X looks really great and certainly meets my expectations. Only time and testing will tell and I'll wait for the verdict to come in before I buy one. However, I'll be saving my pennies in anticipation that this camera will perform well. Nikon has not released any price information to their dealers but one told me to expect this puppy to be in the $4000 - $5000 price range.
If this is as good as it looks perhaps Nikon users will be in the same boat as Canon users when it comes to finding new and used lenses. Now might be the time to pick up some good "surplus" Nikkor lenses that are all over the place.
I see that the D2X will be using a CMOS sensor instead of a CCD. As a relative neophyte to digital photography I'm curious as to why they did this.
Anyway, these are exciting times and this is exciting news. Hopefully the D2X will be a superb performer and I'll only have to buy the body instead of changing brands and having to buy everything all over again.

Here is the contextual description of my scenario:
I worked in a motel (while i was on F1) during the year 2007 and that salary was reflected on my W2. I maintained a clean work status after the initial transgression. I changed to H1B in the year 2008. My GC process was initiated and my application cleared the PERM and I-140 stages successfully.
My question is, will i face any hurdles during the I-485 stage because of the mistake that i committed while i was on F1 ((worked in a motel illegally)? If yes, how serious/low profile could the implications be?
Your advise is much appreciated.

Me and my husband(primary applicant) filed our I 485, I 765, and I 131. Recieved by USCIS on 06/29/2007. our lawyer recently got our reciept nos. my husband got a notice saying FP fee rejected and has been asked to re submit the fee,when, in fact all our checks have already been cashed.all of my notices say case recieved and pending.my question is ,with my husband's case in suspense, will my application be also with held or will USCIS go ahead with my application. I have a question about Mailing my renewal petitions. I have talked to Texas SC few times. I got different answers each time. It appears that they all need job training.
Here is my scenario:
Originally my 485 was filed with NSC and then it was transferred to TSC. So my 485 is pending in TSC right now. Where should I mail my renewal applications?. I live in Colorado. There are 2 different views on this. Some people say that I have to send my applications to whereever my 485 is pending. Some people say that I have to mail it to NSC.
Any thoughts?/

CIS is bound by law to not accept early AOS applications. It depends on State published visa dates. So if we can work with State dept to have them publish the dates for Visa posts for CP as they do today (Which is faster) and add CIS processing delay to the Dates and publish second set of dates for AOS which always be atleast 2 years or more added to current dates published by State.
This gives chance to people, who missed their chance to file in AOS in 2007 July. They can atleast get benefits of AC21 in this tough economy.

Her 12 weeks of maternity leave is ending soon and looks like the family needs to pay attention to child's condition and she has no choice but to become a full-time mom (another full-time job in itself though). She was in status during her maternity leave (some part of which was covered by STD insurance, remaining unpaid leave totaling 12 weeks under FMLA). She needs to change her status from H1 to H4.
